Salt Lake Expungement Attorney
You’ve been arrested for a crime which was never filed by a prosecutor’s office. You had your charges dismissed by the prosecution. You were convicted of a crime, or entered a guilty plea to a crime, and completed your sentence. You’ve paid your debt to society and are now saddled with a record that makes getting a good job extremely difficult, getting an apartment next to impossible, and makes getting educational grants/loans impossible. The consequences of a criminal case don’e end when you are done with probation. There is hope- you may qualify to have your criminal history expunged.
If you have a limited criminal history, or have several convictions of a lesser degree (misdemeanors or infractions), you may qualify to have those charges sealed up and removed from your criminal history.
I constantly hear from people that they should have looked into expungement long ago. If your charge is expunged from your record, an official background check will no longer reveal that charge. You may be able to treat the conviction as if it never occurred. The benefits of that are obvious. Employment opportunities, housing opportunities, and educational opportunities can be opened up. It isn’t a particularly difficult process. It is possible that the court grants an expungement without having a hearing. If an objection is filed, I have experience with expungement hearings and will fight to get the result you desire.
Call me to see if you qualify. There is no sense in letting an old charge hold you back if there is something that you can do about it.
